OUR STORY
In June 2022, K&C Silviculture Ltd. (K&C) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for an initial land parcel with a projected 2024 start date. While that first site ultimately proved unsuitable due to environmental considerations, the search continued with a clear focus on identifying land that met both agricultural and cultural priorities, including low frost risk, reliable access to multiple water sources, and successful environmental and archaeological reviews.
After evaluating several locations, a suitable site was chosen in 2023. A Band Council Resolution was signed on August 23, 2023, followed by a letter of intent in early 2024. With all environmental and archaeological assessments successfully completed and the Osoyoos Indian Band (OIB) approval obtained, the project moved into its next phase—formalizing agreements between K&C and OIB and setting the stage for the launch of Osoyoos Forest Nursery and its shared vision for the future.
Construction began on the site in the fall of 2024. Today, the nursery, which K&C will exclusively manage, spans 26 acres and has the long‑term capacity to produce between 18 and 20 million seedlings when fully developed—an enduring investment in sustainability, collaboration, and future growth.
